Suffolk Show Recommendations

There’s lots to see and do for everyone at this year’s Suffolk Show, but every year there’s one or two things that are definitely “Not to be missed”. So here are some of our recommendations:

SPORT: Meet potential Olympians in the Suffolk Sport Village or get active and have a go at your favourite sport or try something new.

FOOD AND DRINK: Induldge your taste buds by checking out the Adnams Food and Drink Experince with fabulous local produce to taste and buy – from hand made Suffolk cheeses to chutney and fine wines. Also visit our new Suffolk Eat Street complete with ‘cafe pavement style’ seating where you can relax and eat what you buy!.

MILITARY DISPLAY: Last year’s military display was breath-taking, parachutists dropping into the Grand Ring, followed by the Apache helicopter landing and a simulation of a refuelling, how can you top that? Well Wattisham are certainly going to try and have a display which promises to be even more exciting than before, the highlight will be the thrilling military display in the Grand Ring featuring Apache helicopters, abseiling stunts and a rescue mission. Not to be missed!

ROBOT TV STAR!: TV superstar Titan the Robot (you may remember him on Big Brother), one of the most successful street entertainment acts in the world will be making an appearance. The mighty 8ft (2.4m) walking, talking robot will wow the crowds with show stopping performances.

PLACE YOUR BETS: New this year, is the fast and furious Shetland Pony Grand National. Cheer on your favourite steed as young jockeys’ race their ponies in a high speed dash around a course incorporating ‘mini’ Aintree fences.

EAT STREET. The new food and drink experience looking good. Wide selection of food and drink with communal seating area. Band stand playing ambient music

• Ipswich24 will be taking photos and video around the showground on both days and a selection of these will be available for you to see on Wednesday and Thursday evenings…. so make sure you check out the galleries and see if you can see yourself in the crowds!
