Broomhill Lido fight continues

September 2012 will mark 10 years since the closure of Ipswich’s Broomhill lido. It seems ironic that this should fall in the same year that the whole country is poised to celebrate what is great about British sport.

Over the past ten years a small but dedicated team have campaigned to restore and reopen the Broomhill Pool. The team have support from many local people including businesses, councillors and MPs.

November 2011 sees a couple of events in aid of the Broomhill Pool Trust which are open to members of the public.

The Trust’s first ever Fundraising Dinner takes place on Sunday, 13th November. 6:00pm for 6:30pm. An exclusive night at a top Ipswich restaurant – Arlingtons,  13 Museum Street, Ipswich. IP1 1HE

www.arlingtonsbrasserie.co.uk

£25 per head (with £10 proceeds from each sold ticket directly to the Broomhill Pool Trust), includes an excellent three course set meal, tea & coffee, light music, raffle and an after dinner speaker.

Group or table requests can be accomodated.

For tickets, please email enquiries@arlingtonsbrasserie.co.uk or call on 01473 230293

With Christmas just around the corner The Broomhill Christmas Fete is an ideal opportunity to stock up on your Christmas goodies while supporting the Broomhill Pool and The Westbourne Library – Saturday, 26 November. 12:00 – 4:00pm

The pool features in a new book by David Kindred which is available from local bookstores now and includes various pictures from around Ipswich.
