The Committee for the Barn Dance event at Potash Farm near Bury St Edmunds
have once again excelled themselves by organising another fantastic event. The Barn Dance took place on Saturday 1st of October and saw Dr Busker and the Dorset Rats return to Suffolk and give another amazing performance which had the audience gripped by its bawdy nature!
The barn dance featured a bar run by the local pub The Bush in Shimpling with a percentage of the profits going to EACH as well as a BBQ and auction. More than 300 local people turned out to enjoy the brilliant entertainment, food and drink.
The day Started with the group organising a procession of tractors to cruise around the Suffolk countryside to raise additional funds.
The cheque was presented to EACH volunteer Sheila Brown, by the organising committee of the event on Sunday 6 November.
Talking about the event, committee member Sarah Walters said: “This is a amazing local charity that helps life-threatened children and their families in our area. The organising committee decided to raise money for EACH at this years’ event. This is something we have been doing for a few years now and the crowds that came on Saturday show us that it’s still a wonderfully popular event”.
Nikki Brown, Suffolk Fundraiser for EACH said: “We are incredibly grateful to the organising committee for choosing EACH to benefit from this wonderful event. I was there on the evening and have to say it was well run, hugely entertaining and massively popular. I hope that we will be able to work together again in the future. What an amazing achievement for them to have raised so much. We are so lucky to have such dedicated fundraisers who recognise the need for EACH to support local life threatened Children and their families”.
