Pippa Middleton visits Woodbridge to shop

Organisers of the Woodbridge Festive Market, which took place today (Saturday December) in the historic market town in Suffolk today, were stunned to see a visitor linked to royalty looking out for some unusual Christmas gifts amongst the 50 stalls on the town’s Market Hill and inside the Shire Hall.

Sister-in-law to Prince William, The Duke of Cambridge and sister of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Pippa Middleton joined the crowds that thronged the popualr annual market, mixing in with the hundreds of other visitors who were busy snapping up some Christmas presents and gifts from regional designers, local food & drink producers and vintage retailers.

Pippa was in Suffolk to attend a friend’s wedding at Melton Church when she stopped off at the Woodbridge Market. Sarah Hill of Deben Events – www.debenevents.com – organisers of the market, said, “There was suddenly a real buzz going around the market that Pippa Middleton had been spotted, and people were very excited.”

Fellow organiser, Jac Cassidy, said, “I had a stall selling retro Christmas bells on the steps of the Shire Hall and she was standing right next to me, browsing at the stalls. She looked absolutely fantastic and appeared to be very relaxed and enjoying herself.”

It’s not the first time that the Deben Events team has rubbed shoulders with A-list celebrites, as Hollywood actor, Bill Nighy has also been seen at their regular vintage markets in recent years.

Sarah said, “It’s a real royal coup for us and great to think that the Duchess of Cornwall’s sister chose our event to do some last-minute Christmas shopping! We heard that she was spending the weekend in Suffolk with some friends.”

The appearance of Pippa Middleton caps off another successful year for Deben Events with the Festive Market enjoying busy trade. “It’s the last event of the year, so Pippa’s appearance is a memorable way to finish on a high until we start again in Easter,” said Jac.
