Age UK Suffolk’s second charity golf day, held at the prestigious Ufford Park Golf Club on the 19th April 2012, raised a fantastic £3,524 in additional funding to provide much needed services for older people in Suffolk. The Stableford competition attracted 18 teams with the first team prize won by Ipswich VW/Audi, Paul Barnard, Martin Holder and Matt Dawson, who made a very generous and last minute contribution to be the major sponsor of the event, and their team member Stewart White.
Ursula Austin, Business Development Manager of Age UK Suffolk states: “It was a brilliant day and we are delighted to have raised £3500 despite the difficult economic climate. We would like to thank all the teams for taking part, all the businesses and individuals who sponsored the event, and those who donated auction prizes as well as Ufford Park for providing us with a great venue and hospitality. A special thanks to BBC Look East’s Stewart White for hosting the day and taking part in the tournament and Nick Pandolfi of Town 102fm for supporting the event.
This is another way for us to raise awareness of our services and to raise funds but equally important it was a great day for golfers to test their skills and network with others from the business world and local community. The next golf day at Ufford has already attracted some sponsorship enquiries and will be held on the 18th April 2013.
