Martlesham’s Music on the Green is more than the name suggests – it’s a village event with something for everyone – all in aid of a good cause.
Music on the Green takes place on The Village Green, Martlesham Heath on Saturday 21st July. The event boasts live music on two stages, food and refreshments, rides and amusements for children, stalls from various local organisations and independent retailers, plus a car boot sale.
One of the key objectives of Music On The Green is raising money for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH). Throughout the day there will be ‘speed raffles’ with great prizes to be won, most likely every couple of hours or so.
Music On The Green is unique in providing 12 hours of non-stop continuous music from 10.30am until 10.30pm. All of the performers give their services free of charge. Last year there were 22 acts, with over 200 individuals performing throughout the day and this year’s event promises to be just as good, with numerous and varied acts including main stream recording artists, singer songwriters, rock bands, funk bands, pipe bands, fiddle groups, blues bands, accordion bands, soul bands, country and bluegrass bands, Big Bands, Pop bands and even a human beatbox.
