English television and film actor Rob Jarvis, Eddie on BBC TV’s Hustle programme, will officially open the fifth Suffolk Dog Day on Sunday 29th July at Helmingham Hall, at 11.30am.
It’s real coup for the organisers who announced a host of new features for this year including a spectacular display using flaming hoops by the Essex Dog Display Team, special Doglympics games area and a packed two rings of activities running all day.
In the main ring are 12 fun dog classes compared by former BBC Blue Peter and Crufts presenter Peter Purves, while the Suffolk Ring focuses on fun activities with your dog and some practical demonstrations. Fun dog scurry, pet rally obedience and new Doggy’s Got Talent as well as performances by some of the many charities that have benefitted from the £150,000 raised by this event in the last four years ensure something for all the family – four legs or two.
For dog owners there is the chance to win your very own Jewel in the Crown. A raffle is to be held to win a stunning pendant, especially designed and generously donated by Chevenix jewellery of Woodbridge. Set in yellow gold on a yellow gold chain with large emerald cut SkyBlue Topaz 14 x 10mm with a beautiful large 14mm baroque pearl drop with a magnificent lustre the pendant is worth a minimum of £800. The bale attachment depicts the Queen’s crown centre piece set with a small white diamond. Tickets will be on sale at Chenevix jewellers in Woodbridge and from committee members, so call The Suffolk Foundation for details on 01473 602602.
Ordering advance tickets and registering your dog online will save you money and time on the day and don’t forget all the monies raised are distributed among voluntary groups and communities in the county via The Suffolk Foundation.
