The EACH Treehouse Hospice in Ipswich held its 3rd annual Big Summer Declutter on Sunday July 29th and raised a staggering £8,500 from the event. Held at Trinity Park in Ipswich, the Big Summer Declutter, once again saw 400 car booters and 3,500 members of the public attend to sell their wares and find some bargains.
Unique to the event is the opportunity to drop off any unwanted items as the booters leave but this year the fundraising team were overwhelmed with donations and had to stop accepting them. Nikki Brown, Suffolk Fundraiser for EACH said: “We couldn’t believe how much stuff we were being left; we filled a 20ft lorry and a mini bus. We would have loved to have taken it all but it just wasn’t possible in the end. We apologise to anyone who was left disappointed that they couldn’t drop off their items.
“A great day was had by all and thank you to everyone who made this event possible. See you next year!”
The event ran incredibly smoothly and the sun shone for the majority of the day. The money raised will help enormously to ensure EACH can continue to deliver care and support to local life-threatened children and their families.
