Beds for rough sleepers

With the temperatures set to fall again this week, Ipswich Borough Council has announced it is to re-activate it’s emergency beds scheme for rough sleepers from tomorrow (Tuesday 19th February) until further notice.

There are 12 cold weather beds which are provided in partnership with Genesis Housing Association at Cavendish Lodge, 10 Turret Lane, Ipswich.

Access to the Cavendish Lodge is open from 6pm for an initial assessment by staff, with beds available from 8pm, on a first come/first served basis, and also comes with an offer of housing advice to see if trained staff can provide longer term help.

The Council is working with local churches, which are also supplying a winter bed service for people in need.
