Martlesham’s Music on the Green is counting down the days until the annual event on 13th July 2013. The 2012 event raised an amazing £4,500 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and this year’s festival is set to be bigger and better than ever.
The 2013 festival will be held on Saturday 13th July 2013. It will feature 12 hours of non-stop music, fun and frolics aimed at making this years’ the most successful yet. All proceeds will again go to help raise funds for EACH, which provides much needed support throughout the region.
As always there is a popular car boot sale with gates opening at 7am and pitches from £8. Refreshments are available from some fantastic food stalls as well as hospitality from the Douglas Bader Pub, which is situated on the Green within view of all the action.
It is true that every musical taste is catered for, from soft acoustic, to choirs, to classic covers, to rock. All acts perform free of charge and numbers are expected to exceed 10,000 so the tag of “our own little Glastonbury” is clearly accurate. The music begins at 10.30am and continues for 12 hours with sets from old favourites Benjamin Bloom, The Martells, Morpheus and Downsetters joined by some up and coming local bands to name but a few of the performers already confirmed.
Music on the Green is a wonderful day for everyone with a musical interest but more than this; it is a fantastic occasion to share with friends, family and the local community whilst supporting a very worthwhile cause. In years gone by the weather has been kind, and it has often been said that there is little that compares with sitting under Suffolk’s big open skies as the sun sets surrounded by some talented musicians soothing your senses.
The weather is booked! Please join in the fun and make 2013 a record breaking MOTG year.
