Storm news from Ipswich Borough Council

Details of services from Ipswich Borough Council today… bin collections, parks and repairs.

Bin collections are being carried out in Ipswich – dependant on traffic and weather conditions. Services are being kept under review.

The Borough Council is only dealing with emergency repairs to council houses today.

Parks in Ipswich are currently closed. It is suggested that members of the public should avoid going to other parks and open spaces in the town that do not have gates and fences and therefore cannot be easily physically closed. The Council will issue further advice about its parks later today.

The parks that are locked are Alexandra, Stonelodge, Christchurch and Holywells parks and Brunswick Road recreation ground. Signs have been put up on park gates.

There is no public access to any of the cemeteries apart from for people attending services who will be guided by council staff. Access to the Cemeteries Office and Crematorium is only possible by car from Colchester Road due to a tree blocking Cemetery Lane.
