Everyone knows Santa is very busy at this time of year and that’s why he needs lots of help to make sure that everything runs smoothly on the big night. The elves and reindeers often get a mention, but not many people give a thought to Farmer Christmas – the guy who looks after the reindeers and all the other animals that Santa employs.
This year Farmer Christmas is raising his profile. He is taking time out of his Christmas preparations to visit Baylham Farm. For the first three weekends in December, Farmer Christmas will be in his festive barn with some helpers of his own (possibly Gigi the goat or Pip the pig). He will be on hand to talk to any good girls and boys about their wish list for Christmas. Being Santa’s right hand man, Farmer Christmas will then be able to pass any messages directly to Santa.
The rest of Baylham Farm will also open on these dates, including the farm café serving light lunches, cakes, some seasonal goodies and plenty of stocking fillers. There are many animals to see and feed, including some of this year’s kids who are still small enough to sneak through the fence and sit on your lap.
Admission charges are £6 for adults, £5 for concessions, £3 for children between four and 16 years old and under four’s are free. There is no additional charge for meeting Farmer Christmas and no need to book.
• The farm is open Saturday and Sunday, (7/8th. 14/15th & 21st/22nd December) from 10am until 4pm. The farm can be found around six miles west of Ipswich, off the B1113.
