Trianon announce 2014 programme

Lovers of opera and operetta will enjoy local music group Trianon’s January 2014 concert. The programme includes Lehar’s Carnival March, music from Cole Porter, Masquerade from Phantom of the Opera and a medley from Les Miserables.

Music Director Chris Green says, “We have a wonderful variety of music planned for 2014 when our Choir celebrates its 50th birthday. One of the highlights is the popular Music Makers by Elgar, which will be performed in April. The programme also includes Mascagni’s Intermezzo and Borodin’s Symphony No 2.”

trianonIn September the group performs music from George Butterworth, John Rutter, John Williams, Vaughan Williams and Karl Jenkins. 2014 is the centenary of the First World War and the programme depicts life before the war. It commemorates the outset of war and celebrates the return to peace which followed.

All three performances are at the Ipswich Corn Exchange and start at 7.30pm. Trianon also performs four community concerts at smaller venues in Suffolk to raise money for local charities.

All the 2014 concert dates, times and venues are published on Trianon’s website at www.tmg.org.uk. Look out for the royal blue programme brochures, which are available at the Ipswich Tourist Information Office. Trianon are on Facebook and Twitter @MusicTrianon.
