Bobble Day is Back

This year Age UK Suffolk has been joined by some fun and fluffy companions to help advertise Bobble Day on February 7th. Bobble Bob, a sock monkey, is becoming something of a local celebrity, with a busier social diary than the Beckhams. He has recently been spotted at a Fun Dancing fundraising event, watching Ipswich Rugby Club and even appeared on BBC Radio Suffolk with Presenter Mark Murphy. Bob’s fan-base is growing and he is being joined by other cheeky monkeys as the Bobble Day preparations get into full swing!

bobbleBobble Bob’s aim is to get people to wrap-up warm and show their support for national Bobble Day. All money raised in Suffolk will go towards Age UK Suffolk’s services and our annual Spread The Warmth Campaign, helping older people keep warm in the winter season. To find out what Bobble Bob and his busy band of monkey mates have been up to visit our website www.ageuksuffolk.org. Believe it or not you can also follow him on Twitter @BobbleBobMonkey or via our Age UK Suffolk Facebook page. Download a pattern from our website to make your very own Bobble Bob, email or message us on Facebook with pictures of your very own Bobble Bob. You can also help Bobble Bob raise money for Bobble Day, by texting AUKS22 £2 to 70070 to donate £2 to Age UK Suffolk.

Maggie James, Age UK Suffolk’s Fundraising and Development Officer, said, “I would like to thank everyone who is involved in Bobble Day preparations, including Legal and General, Clarice House, Ipswich Building Society, Hadleigh High School and Otley and Easton College. With their support for Age UK Suffolk, it promises to be a fantastic day. We will be at Ipswich market on Bobble Day getting our Bobbles on, from 11am – 3pm, providing information and selling bobbles with music by Saxophonist Tim Sadler”.

“Our charity shops, services and fundraising partners will also be selling bobbles and hosting fundraising events across the county to get Suffolk in the mood for Bobble Day. Though 7th February is getting closer, there is still time for people and organisations to get involved!”
