The Mayor of Ipswich’s Charity Ball raised a whopping £8,000, it was announced today.
Councillor Hamil Clarke MBE said he was “thrilled” that his three official charities would benefit from the annual Grand Hall, Corn Exchange, fund-raiser.
“It was a great night and there are so many people to thank for making it such a success. Much credit should go to my own team, the fabulous musicians, The Downsetters, who played for free, the caterers who produced a mouth-watering Caribbean menu, the Town Hall staff and, of course, those who came along to support my year in office. In addition, Nick Pandolfi ran a very successful auction and we raised a lot of money through that as well as through the ball tickets.”
The Mayor’s charities are East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), Fresh Start New Beginnings, and the Dame Vera Lynn Trust.
