Volunteers sought for hospice shop

St Elizabeth Hospice is appealing for volunteers to help out at their shop in Nacton Road, Ipswich.

The local charity is asking people from the local community to spare a few hours a week or month.
Retail volunteers provide general assistance in the shop and carry out duties including: sorting, pricing, displaying and selling mainly donated goods.

Jason Rudderham, St Elizabeth Hospice’s Retail Area Manager, said, “The local community around Nacton Road have always been very supportive of our Hospice shop and we have people who come in every day to browse and donate items.

“However we are desperate for more people to support the shop by volunteering – any time you can give would be welcomed.
“With such a supportive local community, it would be a shame to have to close the shop on certain days during the week due to lack of volunteers, so if you can help, please get in touch.”

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Nacton Road shop manager on 01473 714652 to discuss the role and to try out a taster session, or visit www.stelizabethhospice.og.uk/volunteer to fill out an online application form.

St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people living with a progressive illness in East Suffolk and South Norfolk.

It costs £9.1million a year to run and relies on the income generate from its shops, donations and fundraising events to meet the majority of these costs.
