Treasured pub The Red Lion is inviting local residents to enjoy its new look following a week long refurbishment.
Situated near Martlesham in the ancient riverside market town of Woodbridge, The Red Lion is a former coaching inn on the old London to Yarmouth turnpike road, With a timber framed plastered exterior and colour washed brick, the pub has retained many of its 16th century features, including exposed wooden beams and open fireplaces.
At the heart of this historic part of Suffolk, Read more…The Chef and Brewer pub restaurant, has been completely revamped, bringing in a new look complete with the furniture and fittings expected of a beloved grade II listed country pub.
The end product is a fresher venue that will serve classic pub dishes such as slow-cooked pork belly, creamy fish pie and Yorkshire Sausage & Mash. The Red Lion also serves a lunch menu between 12 and 4pm on Monday to Saturday, including favourites such as hand battered fish and chips and a barbecue & ale pulled pork sandwich from just £4.99.
