Magic show in a floating theatre

S-B-Victor-NHSRA Christmas-themed Magic Lantern Show, starring the musical theatre group Peppers Ghost, is taking place on Saturday 13th December aboard the sailing barge Victor, which is moored on Ipswich Waterfront outside the Old Custom House.

Peppers Ghost is a group of actor/musicians in Victorian costume performing music, songs, monologues and comic entertainment. The show is set to a back-drop of glass slides of original period photographs and lithographs projected by a Magic Lantern.

This is the third year that captain of the Victor, David “Wes” Wesley, has invited Peppers Ghost to perform and is looking forward to transforming the barge into a floating theatre for the night. Victor was built in Ipswich in 1895 and is exactly the era to make the show, in her cosy polished wood saloon, extra special and relevant.

Tickets for the show cost £10 per person and are available, along with further details, from Ipswich Tourist Information Centre, St Stephen’s Church in the town. Telephone 01473 258070 or email tourist@ipswich.gov.uk. The show starts at 7.30pm and the doors open at 6.45. Victor has a fully licensed bar.
