Clothing donations required

Could you make a donation of clothing or bric-a-brac, to raise money to pay for services for older people in Suffolk? We are calling on any spring cleaners, sorter-outers and secret hoarders to think of Age UK Suffolk when clearing out your home.

When people think of charity shops there are sometimes certain assumptions about what is inside, but if you step into Age UK Suffolk’s Ipswich Charity shop in Upper Brook Street, you could be pleasantly surprised. Fashionable clothing, attractive jewellery, and gripping best-selling books are among the treats that are on offer.

Julie Webb, Age UK Suffolk’s Upper Brook Street Charity Shop Manager, said, “We can quickly transform good quality donations into services for older people. Your donation could help us Shine a Light on Loneliness and pay towards day clubs, dementia services or even running our walk-in information help desk at the back of our shop. From wedding dresses to second-hand scrabble, our charity shops stock a variety of unique and unusual items that you can’t find on the high street.”

For more information on Age UK Suffolk services please call 01473 351234, or visit www.ageuksuffolk.org. We have charity shops across Suffolk including two in the centre in Ipswich – our furniture store on Carr Street and our charity shop on 41a Upper Brook Street, for more information call 01473 359911.
