‘Paws’ for tea for homeless pets in Suffolk

Local animal lovers are invited to join in the fun at Blue Cross pet charity’s Paws for Tea fundraising event at the Felixstowe rehoming centre on Saturday 16 May, from 11am to 3pm.

The team at the Blue Cross centre on the High Street in Walton are donning their aprons and baking up some treats in preparation for the charity’s annual tea party. Visitors will be able to enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake for a small donation, which will go towards the care of the homeless dogs and cats at the centre.

Andrew Gillon, Centre Manager at Blue Cross in Suffolk, said: “Enjoying a slice of cake and a cup of tea has never been more rewarding. Blue Cross helps over 40,000 sick, injured and homeless pets every year, and its events like Paws for Tea that make it possible. Every penny raised really does help.”

Local pet-lovers are also being invited to host their own tea parties for needy pets at Blue Cross. To register your event and to find out more, visit www.bluecross.org.uk/teaparty.

Andrew adds: “Whether people come along to our tea party, or host one of their own, we hope lots of people will get involved with this year’s event.”

Blue Cross is currently building a brand new rehoming centre in Wherstead, on the outskirts of Ipswich, which will replace the charity’s current Felixstowe centre. A new rehoming centre means the charity can double the number of pets it helps.
