On Sunday 12th July 2015 the final Ufford Bygones and Fun Day will take place at Crown Farm in the village of Ufford.
The event, which was conceived in 2002, not only provides a great family day out but also raises vital funds for St Elizabeth Hospice, Ipswich. From it’s small beginnings some thirteen years ago, when formative ideas for the event were discussed, the event has steadily grown in size into what many have described as “a great family day out”.
So, for their final year, organisers have lined-up an even greater range of attractions, including working steam and traction engines, live music, local arts and craft stalls, exhibits of classic cars, vintage tractors, and motorbikes, and demonstrations of agricultural and industrial machinery from a bygone era.
There will be loads of games that everybody can have a go at, including target football, a coconut shy, the ‘Mighty Joe’ high striker, knife throwing, and bowl for a pig. There will be a dog show dog and dog agility displays. Plus, there will also be showing heavy horses, including a magnificent Suffolk Punch and a lovely Pecheron. There will also be donkey rides for the children, a ‘kiddies corner’, and a bouncy castle.
A huge choice of food will be on offer throughout the day to keep you nourished, including burgers and hotdogs from our BBQ, delicious Paella from the paella stall, a hog roast, and desserts in the form of crepes and ice creams.
And for the final year organisers have lined-up a test for all you good car drivers out there; you’ll have the opportunity to drive a car which goes in the opposite direction to which you would normally steer it around a small obstacle course.
So please come along, enjoy the day, invite all your family and friends, and help raise money for the St Elizabeth Hospice; through you, over the last twelve years, this event has raised a whopping £73,600 for the hospice.
