Keep your kids entertained this summer at DanceEast

Children and teenagers can make friends, have fun, develop great new skills and work with world-class dance tutors and choreographers at DanceEast’s Summer Schools.

DanceEast Youth Summer School is suitable for seven to eleven year olds and includes workshops in five dance styles; Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, Creative Ballet, Creative Dance and Contemporary, as well as performance classes in Contemporary and Choreography. Children on this summer school will have the opportunity to work towards their Arts Award.

DanceEast Teen Summer School, for 12 to 16 year olds, will be lead by Avant Garde Dance, under the artistic direction of Tony Adigun. Avant Garde Dance is a London based company at the forefront of innovative hip hop contemporary dance theatre.

After a sell-out performance of The Black Album in April last year and oversubscribed Hip Hop Classes last term, Avant Garde Dance bring a week-long course that will give participants the chance to learn, be creative and perform, whilst offering students the unique opportunity to work closely with professional dance artists on set movements phrases.

The summer schools run from 9am and finish at 3.30pm, with optional early morning and late afternoon chaperoned sessions available. There is a sharing on the final day so students can observe each other’s work and parents/guardians can see what they’ve been up to.
