Move for Henham Steam Rally

The 41st Grand Henham Steam Rally is being staged this year at Trinity Park, Ipswich, home of the Suffolk Show, rather than at its usual location at Henham near Southwold.

Over the last forty years the Rally has become one of Suffolk’s foremost attractions combining an impressive display of steam power that includes
working steam demonstrations, together with hundreds of vintage cars, motorcycles, tractors and other equipment plus a full programme of family entertainment.
Heading up the entertainment in the two arenas this year will be the Spectacular Bold Dog Freestyle FMX Display Team. This internationally acclaimed team will be performing death defying feats that will take your breath away.

Traction-enginesAnother major feature is the special Tribute to Garretts of Leiston presented by popular TV personality Paul Heiney. Paul will be telling the story of this once famous Suffolk manufacturer, illustrated by one of the largest collections of Garrett products ever gathered together.

Other arena attractions are the parades of vintage steam and other vehicles, a fantastic display of synchronised kite flying, a presentation of magnificent heavy horses with their beautiful carts, brewers drays, etc. and the Lowestoft Dog Agility Display Team.

All this plus avenues of trade and craft stands, a vintage fairground including the Ken Fox Wall of Death and live bands performing on the band stand on both days.

There’s everything, in fact to ensure a great day out for the whole family. And if you want to stay for the whole weekend camping and caravan sites are available in the park.

All profits from the Rally go to charity which this year includes MIND.

Grand Henham Steam Rally takes place at Trinity Park, Ipswich on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September. Admission to the Rally is £9 if booked in advance or £11 on the day. Accompanied children under 14 FREE and FREE parking. For more information visit www.henhamsteamrally.com
