Further work is set to take place on Ipswich’s Cornhill over the coming weeks.
The work to complete the bore holes and CBR tests will take place at the Cornhill on Sunday 19 June and this will be followed by an initial archaeological trench investigation starting on Monday 27 June. Ipswich Borough Council anticipates that the work will be complete within three weeks, subject to final approval and any findings.
The regeneration of the Cornhill is the brainchild of the Ipswich Vision Board but, while concepts have been published, no final design will be agreed before extensive consultation.
Funding for the project has been agreed by the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership, Ipswich Borough Council and Suffolk County Council.
