The winner of the Great Ipswich Bake Off 2016 has been crowned after impressing the judges with their ‘Ipswich on a plate’ cake.
Barbara Zion from Ipswich pulled out all the stops with her UCS beating stiff competition from others to showcase the town on a cake in this year’s competition.
Winner Barbara receives £100 of baking goodies so she can continue with her passion of creating wonderful cakes for her family and friends, a personalised cake stand designed and painted for her by Pennikkity Pots and a voucher for a cream tea for two from Town and Tea.
The Great Ipswich Bake Off formed part of Food and Drink Forknight that ran earlier in the year and highlights the many great places that Ipswich has to eat and drink.
Helen Dodman from Ipswich Central, which organises Food and Drink Forknight, said: “Barbara’s cake was the clear winner with our judges and extra creativity points were awarded for the recreation of the question mark.
“We hope she enjoys her prize and that in inspires her to create many more fabulous cakes.”
