Ipswich Borough Council is open for business (2016) to help you over the festive break.

The Ipswich HEARS and CCTV emergency centre staff are on duty 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, so no change for them over Christmas. It’s all part of the service.

Waste collections do change over Christmas – there will be no brown bin collections between 27th December and 6th January as the Council puts all its effort into collecting extra waste and recycling materials after Christmas. Brown bin collections will resume on Tuesday 10th January. Blue bin collections are changing over the festive period. A leaflet has been delivered to every household and you can find out more at www.ipswich.gov.uk/bins

The Customer Services Centre in the Town Hall (both face-to-face and phone staff) will be open in the run-up to Christmas to meet your needs but will be closed on 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th December and on 31st December, 1st and 2nd January, reopening on Tuesday 3rd January 2017.

Parks are also open every day of the year – unless an icy snap makes paths dangerous. However, the visitor centres in Christchurch and Holywells parks will be closed on 24th, 25th and 26th December as well as on 1st January.

Sports Centres: Crown Pools and Fore Street Pool and Profiles gyms offer a comprehensive service but all the sports centres and Fore Street Pool are closed on 25th, 26th and 27th December and on 1st and 2nd January. Crown Pools is open on 27th December and on 2nd January from 7.45am to 5pm, including the Profiles gym.
