Empire Cinema reveals luxury as standard seating

In celebration of their new Ipswich cinema complex opening next week, Empire Cinemas, has surveyed Ipswich locals and discovered that their new range of ‘luxury as standard’ cinema seating is the best seat they’ve ever sat on. The public got an exclusive chance to see and test out Empire’s new range of seating in the heart of the Buttermarket last week ahead of the grand opening on Friday 31st March.

Empire, the UK’s largest independently-owned cinema chain, will feature luxury seating as standard in all 14 screens, along with giving cinemagoers the option to ‘upgrade’ and watch all the action on the biggest screens from the comfort of their very own luxury recliner or share one of the double sofas. Now even Empire’s ‘standard’ seats are the quality of a premier seat in any other cinema chain.

When surveyed, a whopping 98.2% of the public proclaimed that the new Empire Cinemas seats were the most comfortable cinema seats they’d ever sat on. If that was the easiest question; perhaps the more difficult, was establishing which seat they preferred: Luxury as Standard or the two upgrade options The Luxury Recliner and Double Sofa. Almost (47.4%) half of those surveyed chose The Luxury Recliner; with cushioned support and a fully laid back experience, it was no surprise that this was the public’s favourite. It was a close call for second place, with 27.8% voting for the Double Sofa and 24% for the Standard luxury chair.

Ipswich locals were questioned on how much they’d expect to pay for each chair in the range. Due to the undeniable luxurious quality of Empire’s new seating 9 in 10 (87.7%) of those surveyed would expect to pay more than even the standard seating at their local competitor. However with their standard seating coming in at a competitive rate, Empire provides the best value for money as well as the comfiest seats in town.

Empire Cinemas Ipswich will feature two IMPACT® screens, boasting bigger screens and Dolby ATMOS sound alongside stadium seating and extra legroom, creating the ultimate viewing experience.

Movie lovers in Ipswich will also have the chance to visit Empire’s brand new D-BOX screens. These two additional screens offer viewers the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the action with seats synchronised to the film, mimicking movements and vibrations. Sound, image and motion will all come together in this user controlled environment to create a truly memorable experience.

Jon Nutton, Marketing Director of Empire Cinemas added; “We at Empire believe in creating the best possible cinematic experience and are passionate in constantly improving the publics cinema viewing experience. We are delighted to now have luxury as standard seating as well are our new IMPACT and D- Box screens and hope you enjoy watching this year’s exciting blockbusters in our brand new complex!”
