Global Rhythm and Indian Mela

The Ipswich summer fun continues next weekend with Global Rhythm and the Indian Mela.

Both events are FREE and are held in Ipswich’s Christchurch Park.

On Saturday (8th July), Global Rhythm takes centre stage – well, three stages actually – between 1pm and 7pm, with six hours of roots and dance music from around the world.

Global Rhythm is a colourful celebration of worldwide music and culture, offering something for everyone: live music and performances from the Martin Burley Peppery Stage, the Missile Sound Stage and the Global Village Stage.

There are also fairground rides, cultural catering, a craft market, a Singing Safari and more.

On-site parking, via Park Road, is available at £5 per car, accessible parking for blue badge holders is free of charge.

On Sunday (9th July), between noon and 6pm, it is the turn of the Indian Mela.

This is a rich and colourful celebration of Asian culture. Highlights include glittering performances of Bollywood dances, songs, music, Bollywood dance workshops, Indian cooking demonstrations, sari and turban demonstrations, Mela’s Got Talent, a vibrant market and an Indian food village.

Indulge in delicious cuisine from across the Indian sub-continent. Spend the day exploring and enjoying an exciting expression of Asian culture at this family-friendly festival.

On-site parking, via Park Road, is available at £5 per car, accessible parking for blue badge holders is free of charge.
