Police are appealing for witnesses and urging communities to be vigilant following a number of burglaries in Ipswich, Martlesham Heath and Melton.
During the past few days, six burglaries have been reported to police and officers are exploring whether any of the incidents are linked.
Details of the incidents are as follows:
•Wellesley Road, Ipswich (835/18) – At around 6:30pm on Thursday 4 January an offender smashed a double glazed first floor window but was disturbed by the homeowner and fled the scene.
•Cauldwell Hall Road, Ipswich (932/18) – Between 8.45am and 10:15am of today, Friday 5 January, an unknown offender has smashed a window in the back door before making a search of the property. An amount of cash has been taken.
•The Street, Melton (841/18) – On Thursday 4 January, between 6:20am and 8:15pm a suspect forced a front window and stole two sets of gold cufflinks.
•Church View Close, Melton (845/18) – Between 1pm on Wednesday 3 January and 8pm on Thursday 4 January a suspect kicked in a panel of a rear UPVC door and stole foreign currency.
•Church View Close, Melton (916/18) – At some point an offender has forced the back door and searched the property. It is not clear at this stage whether anything has been taken.
•Westland, Martlesham Heath (824/18) – On Thursday 4 January between 1:55pm and 5:40pm a suspect forced a rear patio door before making an untidy search and stealing jewellery.
