7am Wednesday
Bin collections suspended
Ipswich Borough Council has suspended bin collections today as the overnight snow has made conditions dangerous in the town.

A Council spokesman said: “We have taken this decision because the crews cannot get out and more snow is forecast. We apologise for the inconvenience but will catch up as soon as conditions allow.

Other council services are running – the emergency cold weather beds remain in operation for the homeless and parks will open – although people are asked to take care on snowy paths.

We will send an update on sports centres and pools shortly.
