You might have heard them at the ice-cream van, or in your favourite tapas bar, or even from the terraces at the Rugby World Cup – some tunes from Europe that have become familiar here as pizza and baguettes.
St Peters Band plays a selection of these at their concert in St Peters by the Waterfront on Saturday 17th March and 7.30pm. There is music from the Paris club strip and the theme from a classic French film; paso dobles to get your feet tapping, a peasant dance from central Europe and much more including a spectacular vision of a legion entering ancient Rome.
The date of the concert is shared with St Patrick’s Day so also expect something from the emerald isle. And Scandinavia gives us a suitable Swedish pop song – the one about a divorce. There will also be very special guests bringing their own European flavour to the evening – Eleonora Bulatova (piano) and François Caffin (accordian). There is a bar and a raffle with great prizes. The concert is in aid of Ipswich Citizens Advice, so come along not just for an enjoyable evening but also to support this valuable charity. Tickets £8 on the door.
