Son of a Preacher Man is coming to the Regent Theatre in Ipswich early next month and it promises to be a star-studded week of performances.
Michelle Gayle (“Wolfblood”, “EastEnders” and “Beauty & the Beast”) and Alice Barlow (“Hollyoaks” and “Drifters”) are both taking part in the musical, which is directed and choreographed by Strictly Come Dancing’s Craig Revel Horwood and features the greatest hits of Dusty Springfield.
This funny and touching new musical by Warner Brown will have you laughing, crying and singing your heart out to some of the greatest songs ever written.
To give you a flavour … three broken hearts, one Soho joint and the only man who could ever help them.
Welcome to the Preacher Man, the swinging Soho joint where the kids used to dance the night away and dared to dream of love, while the legendary owner, The Preacher Man himself, dispensed advice to cure the loneliest of hearts.
Remember these Dusty classics? The Look Of Love, I Only Want To Be With You, Spooky and Son Of A Preacher Man. They are all here.
Only, that was a long time ago and all that remains are the memories, the stories and the myths.
Until now, that is, as three random strangers, generations apart but all in need of help with their hopeless love lives, are inexplicably drawn to the site of the original venue.
So you know just what to do with yourself – you’ve still time to book your tickets!
Son of a Preacher Man: Ipswich’s Regent Theatre from 3rd to 7th April.
