Many people know John Brunning’s name from his daily ‘drivetime’ programme on Classic FM. But fewer are aware of his work as a composer, despite his having written for many major artists including The King’s Singers, ‘All Angels’ and Katherine Jenkins.
To say John’s musical tastes are eclectic would be an understatement: classical, pop, rock and jazz are all genres he enjoys, but he admits to a particular penchant for choral music.
“I am delighted that Ipswich Chamber Choir are going to give the world premiere performances of some of my most recent pieces”, says John. “A few years ago, Christopher Borrett sang on a recording of my oratorio, ‘Amazing Day’, so I’m very confident that my latest works are in excellent hands”.
Ipswich Chamber Choir, conducted by Christopher Borrett, sings UBI CARITAS, new works by John Brunning. Also pieces by Holst and Poulenc on Saturday 19th May at Rushmere St Andrew, Ipswich, IP5 1DH at 4pm. Tickets cost £12, including refreshments, and are available from Music World, Queen Street 01473 253666, Woodbridge Violins 01394 383150 or firstname.lastname@example.org
