With the hot dry summer, farmers have been and will continue to be, a topic for conversation.
Many a tractor has been spotted with harvest coming to a head and again Suffolk Food Hall is set for the annual celebration of all things farming and tractor. The event continues with the model that has served it well to date; free entry and parking and a range of different family-centred activities. Once again, the day is in support of the Suffolk Community Foundation.
With the panoramic views of the River Orwell and the paddocks of Suffolk Food Hall once part of a working farm, the setting is apt. There will be tractors of all shapes, sizes, conditions and age, from pedal tractors to modern day machines. Local preservation group, Tattingstone Tractors, will stop in as part of its road rally.
Once again Suffolk Land Rover Owners Club will be offering 4×4 assault course rides, on its unique circuit next to the Orwell Bridge. Tractor Ted is a new arrival for this year, bringing with it welly wanging, chuck-a-chicken, the digger den, and Tractor Ted himself with all his charm.
The entertainment continues; the music stage welcomes some familiar faces with James Nunn and Flyzig returning alongside new additions Pop Chorus, 12-year-old Roma, Poppy Scarlett and Philip Marino.
As an award-winning food venue, there will of course be a range of refreshments. Local brewer, Beer & Co will set-up their craft beer and gin bar, along with the Suffolk Punch Prosecco Bar, and burgers, sausages, and pulled beef will be showcased by Suffolk Food Hall and Emerald Catering, not to mention wood-fired pizza from Delivita. Small independent craft and children’s entertainment will be scattered around the paddocks with a host of activities.
Event organiser Russ Haddow explained ‘Tractor Fair is back for a fourth year, and as always we want to provide something fun and exciting for anybody that attends’.
