Rod Stewart announces Ipswich gig

Music legend Rod Stewart will be performing at Portman Road next summer as part of his 2019 UK tour.

In support of the release of his 30th studio album Blood Red Roses (released September 28), Rod Stewart Live In Concert will visit football stadiums and outdoor venues across England and Scotland including a date at the home of Town on Friday, June 7.

“We are delighted to be welcoming Rod Stewart back to Portman Road. He performed at the stadium in the late 90s and also in 2007,” said Town’s director of sales, Rosie Richardson.

“He certainly puts on a fabulous show and we’re looking forward to the summer of 2019!”

Tickets go on sale at 9am, September 21 from www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
Pre-sale tickets will go on sale at 9am, September 19 and can be accessed by pre-ordering Rod’s new album ‘Blood Red Roses’ from www.HMV.com.

Town season ticket holders and supporters will have advance ticket buying options, while those Rod fans looking for hospitality will be able to purchase directly from the Club. Further details on that and disabled facilities will be announced next week.

This will be Rod’s first UK tour in three years following the success of two sold-out tours in 2016 – The UK Hits Stadium Tour and the arena tour From Gasoline Alley to Another Country Hits.

Concert-goers will also be treated to tracks from his soon to be released new album Blood Red Roses – (CLICK HERE TO PRE ORDER NEW ALBUM NOW FROM AMAZON) a deeply personal 13-track collection of originals and three covers – which is released almost 50 years to the date from when he signed his very first solo recording contract.

Rod has earned countless of the industry’s highest awards, among them two inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the ASCAP Founders Award for songwriting, New York Times best-selling author, Grammy™ Living Legend, and in 2016 he officially became ‘Sir Rod Stewart’ after being knighted by Prince William at Buckingham Palace for his services to music and charity.
