With five star shows and the first days of panto, the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich has plenty to keep you busy this November!
For Shakespeare lovers, English Touring Theatre return to the venue with their acclaimed adaptation of Othello from Tuesday 30th October until Saturday 3rd November. One of Shakespeare’s most startling contemporary plays, Othello is a masterful depiction of life torn apart by prejudice.
Ian Hislop and Nick Newmans’ latest comedy play, Trial By Laughter will take to the stage from Monday 5th until Saturday 10th November, exploring the true story of William Hone, a satirist who stood trial for ‘impious blasphemy and seditious libel’, though the only crime he had committed was to be funny.
Fans of Alice Sebold’s best-selling book, The Lovely Bones, should not miss the first ever stage adaptation of the story. Running from Tuesday 13th until Saturday 17th November, the story will be caringly brought to life by a talented cast, including Charlotte Beaumont, who played Chloe Latimer in the hit TV series, Broadchurch.
If music is your thing, Liverpool legends, China Crisis, will rock the stage on Sun 4th November, performing their classic album Flaunt the Imperfection alongside hits like Wishful Thinking and Christian.
Kick starting the festivities, the New Wolsey’s rock ‘n’ roll panto, Cinderella, opens on Thursday 29th November, running through until Saturday 2nd February 2019! Tickets are selling fast, so be sure to book yours soon.
Families with youngsters can head to the New Wolsey Studio for their festive family Christmas show, The Ballad of Rudy, from Tuesday 4th until Monday 31st December. This magical story follows everyone’s favourite reindeer, Rudolph, on a jazz filled adventure complete with live music and sing along songs perfect for ages 3+ and their families.
