West End Shows come to Ipswich

This Autumn, the West End will be dancing to your doorstep at the Ipswich Regent Theatre. Whether rock music, inspiring true stories, or rags to riches tales are your jam, there’s something for everyone.

Kicking off the Autumn season is the spectacular Queen and Ben Elton musical We Will Rock You, showing from 23rd until 28th September. Prepare to be dazzled in this awe-inspiring production, featuring 24 of Queen’s greatest hits, including ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, ‘Under Pressure’ and ‘We Are the Champions’. There is limited availability for this show, so book soon!

Prepare to laugh, prepare to cry, prepare to be inspired. Musical comedy Calendar Girls will be coming to the Regent from 22nd until 26th October. The musical, by Gary Barlow and Tim Firth, is based on the true story of a group of ordinary women who did something extraordinary.

A revival of the much-loved musical Annie makes its return. Set in 1930s New York during the Great Depression, the story follows young Annie, who sees her luck change when she is taken away from Miss Hannigan’s miserable orphanage to spend a fairytale Christmas with a famous billionaire. The musical features a Tony® award-winning book and score that is sure to get you on your feet. See it at the Regent from 5th until 9th November.

The Ipswich Regent Theatre will be celebrating it’s 90th Anniversary with a special concert from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on Friday 1st November. Proms classics will be joined by the unbeatable anthems of The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Stevie Wonder, as the orchestra take you on a journey through the ages.

As part of the 90th celebrations, lots of top acts are making their way to Ipswich in 2020, from chart-topping pop stars to hilarious comedians. Plus more West End musicals await, including the fabulous Priscilla Queen of the Desert in March, and more to be announced.
