Five Star Swing theatre shows have performed seven major UK tours including London Theatres with “Swing n Sinatra”, “In the Mood”, “Five Star Swing”, “The Big Band” and now “Hits from the Blitz”

This unique “feel-good” 1940’s show, as featured at Dame Vera Lynn’s Charity Gala Nights, boasts famous War-Time tunes & “sing-a-longs” is brought to life by the singers and multi-instrumentalists of the “Five Star Swing” band, (“Superb, they swing like crazy!” – Sheila Tracy, BBC).

Featuring Vocalist / Saxophonist Simone who has performed on the TV Film Lace 2, recorded with Paul Weller and was featured alto saxophone solo on the Paul Merton Show. She was also lead alto saxophone for the New Squadronaires and latter days of the Ivy Benson show band, including a performance on the Russell Harty TV Show.

Chris Smith (Jnr) – Band Leader, composer and arranger for Glenn Miller’s Brother, Herb has his compositions and arrangements frequently played by Jazz FM, Capital Radio, B.B.C. Radio Big Band, The Royal Variety Performance and of course Five Star Swing! As a Piano/Trumpet player, Chris has appeared on B.B.C. Breakfast TV, Top of the Pops, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and The Royal Variety Show.

Chris Says, “I’ve been brought up with this style of music as my father (Chris Smith Snr) played trombone for Frank Sinatra on his European tours. It’s a great atmosphere during the show as there’s a strong resurgence in Jazz and Swing music enjoyed by all generations these days”.

Trombone player, Mike Innes, has recorded with Shirley Bassey, Jools Holland, Gary Barlow, Elaine Paige, Roy Castle, Harry Secombe, ‘Darius’ and The Pet Shop Boys. He was the musical director for the English entry for the “Song for Europe” and with the Ronnie Scott’s big band. Mike’s television appearances include – Top of the Pops, TFI Friday, Jools Holland, Steve Coogan, A Song for Europe, Noel’s House Party and MTV.

Hits from the Blitz is great value for money and is guaranteed to be a fantastic afternoon of music and sing-along.
