Christchurch Mansion Exhibition and Talks


An exhibition by 20th Century women artists opens at Christchurch Mansion’s Wolsey Art Gallery next month and is accompanied by a programme of talks.

“Obscure Secure” includes work by Connie Winn, Peggy Somerville, Anna Airy, Effie Spring-Smith, Kathleen Walne, Helen Kiddall, Prunella Clough, Beatrice Lithiby, Lucy Harwood and E M Every.

The works form partof Ipswich Borough Council’s collection and were selected by artists Claudia Böse, Hayley Field and Jacqueline Utley, who have created new work in response.

The exhibition opens on 6th September and runs until 18th January 2015. Entry to Christchurch Mansion and Wolsey Art Gallery is free.
