Local charity Genesis Orwell Mencap, which supports people with disabilities across Ipswich and South Suffolk, is taking steps towards a sustainable future by selling its award winning garden furniture, crafts and refurbished bikes at a craft show in Ipswich town centre on Saturday 21 April.

High quality hardwood furniture, handmade cushions and other crafts, plus bikes from as little as £12 refurbished through Genesis’ Green Bike Project, will be on show at the Ipswich and Suffolk Club, off Tower Street in Ipswich from 10am to 3pm.

Visitors will be able to see how the furniture and crafts items are made during working demonstrations and free refreshments will be available for all.

Nino Serritiello, chief executive of Genesis Orwell Mencap, said: “In the current economic climate funding is uncertain and so we are looking at ways in which we can work towards supporting ourselves and the work we do.

“Selling our award winning furniture, crafts and refurbished bikes, all produced by our clients at our site in Wright Road in Ipswich, provides a valuable source of income. We hope as many people as possible will come along to the Craft Show and see the quality goods we have to offer.”

The event is supported by the Ipswich and Suffolk Club which is providing the venue free of charge, Suffolk Offset and Ipswich based PR agency Genesis PR.
