Police appeal after assault

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault GBH following an incident in Ipswich in the early hours of the morning on Saturday 16 June 2012.

Police were called to Cardinal Park at around 4am to reports of an altercation between a man and a woman. A second report was then received of a man going over Stoke Bridge and onto the rocks below.

This man was taken to Ipswich Hospital where he is recovering with head injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 24-year-old man from the Ipswich area has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to either incident to come forward, please contact Ipswich CID on 101.
