FEMALE
FIGHT NIGHT COMES TO IPSWICH
WIN TICKETS AND DVD
It's REAL GIRL POWER as All Pro Women Wrestling brings
its flagship television show ChickFight TV to Ipswich
on Sunday May 4th at The Caribbean Centre, 11-17 Woodbridge
Road Ipswich.
IPSWICH24 and ChickFight TV have teamed up to offer one
of our lucky readers 2 free tickets to see the event and
a DVD... Read on to find out how you can be there.
The
event which is being filmed for broadcast every Saturday
night on Pulse TV in the UK (Sky Ch 208), MavTV in the
USA and BITE TV in Canada will see a number of the worlds
finest female fighters headlined by former WWE Women's
Champion Jazz!
While the world has become acustomed to the dominant world
of male wrestling it is now the women who are fighting
for respect and recognition.
"We have to work twice as hard as the guys to be
thought of being even half as good" said top American
female wrestler Melissa Anderson. "Of course we're
not happy being thought of as 'Half As Good' so we work
10 times as hard! We train harder than the ment, we hit
harder than the men and our events are always better than
the mens.
The men have become lazy and right now we're showing them
up by having better matches than them". The event
organiser is Ipswich's own Dann Read who until last year
had promoted some of the biggest male wrestling shows
in the country featuring stars such as Bret "Hitman"
Hart. "I never thought I would end up promoting sole
female wrestling shows but the truth is they're working
harder than most male wrestlers I've ever met. These girls
feel as though they have something to proove and I'm glad
I can help give them a platform to do so. There are a
lot of female wrestling fans in the country who don't
have anyone to look upto when watching WWE wrestling on
Sky TV these days because unless you've been a model the
WWE won't hire you. What does that tell people watching
th
product? That unless you look and appear a certain way
you can not achieve your dreams. I don't want my daughter
growing up thinking that looks are the most important
thing in the world when she's watching her wrestling.
Celebrities portray that image enough as it is - a family
entertainment sport such as wrestling should not also
give out that message. The truth is if you have heart
and talent you can achieve anything and the girls here
certainly have both. We promote strong women of all shapes
and sizes that can be role models to anyone".
ECW Original and former World Women's Champion Jazz headlines
the star studded event which brings the best all female
wrestlers from around the world together to compete. America's
Melissa Anderson, Croatia's Wesna Busic, Ireland's Rebecca
Knox and the UK's own Jetta all feature among many others
in a worldwide television taping for the companys flagship
show ChickFight TV. .
