Fresh from a highly
successful run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe where it
won a Fringe First and was nominated for a Total Theatre
Award, Story of a Rabbit and its creator Hugh Hughes are
returning to Ipswich where the show premièred in
June last year at the PULSE Festival.

When
Hugh finds his neighbour’s rabbit dead in the garden
he doesn’t know what to do. So he puts it in a bag
in the shed at the bottom of his garden. But when he finds
that the body has disappeared he is forced to confront what
happens to us when we die. Combining Hugh’s uniquely
charming theatricality and his best friend Aled’s
music, Story of a Rabbit lifts the lid on life’s final
mystery.
Story of a Rabbit is a co-production between Hoipolloi and
the New Wolsey Theatre.
Hugh is excited about coming back to Ipswich; “Aled
and I developed this show in Ipswich so we’re very
thrilled to come back and hopeful that people who saw it
in its early days will come back to see it again. We had
an amazing time at the Edinburgh Fringe. It was a real honour
to be awarded the Fringe First, which now takes pride of
place on my mum’s mantelpiece.”
You can see Hugh on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 May at 7.45pm.
