Ten local artists teamed up on 30th October for a session at Ipswich ceramics café All Fired Up, to paint decorative plates in aid of the Ipswich Children's Hospice charity, EACH. (All Fired Up kindly sponsored the event).

Giving up their time to this good cause were professionals Reg Siger, noted for his paintings of half-timbered cottages, Helen Stoodley, marine artist, Michael Pettersson, landscape artist, and Jenny Scott, animal painter. Peter Beeson, Dale Deveraux-Barker and Ted and Phyl Bigny who all tried their hand with this unfamiliar art form, along with Ron Wragg and Anna Cordon, who were the organisers of the event.

All Fired Up Ceramics Painting, Ipswich

The ten unique painted plates will be sold at the major art exhibition held in the Corn Exchange from 14th-17th November (free admission, 10.30am-10.30pm) in aid of the Children's Hospice. Ipswich24 readers are welcome to attend the Preview to the exhibition on 13th November at 7.30pm, which is to be opened by well-known classical music broadcaster Humphrey Burton, CBE.
