Angie has taken control of her weight and improved her life.
"A chance meeting in the park was my turning point, a lady told me about the local Slimming World Club at the Conservative Club in Clapgate Lane. I joined that same evening and although it's taken me a while I have now lost three stone and got to my first target of 10 stone 12 lbs.

"I have been helped along the way by swimming once or twice a week for an hour and I do a lot of walking, about three miles a day, with my dogs. Once a week I ditch the car and walk to town and back, about five miles. The best bit of the new look is the inches I've lost, seven around my waist alone! I've started doing sit-ups and now do 125 every morning. Not bad for someone who 12 years ago was sat in a wheelchair on her 40th birthday and didn't know what the future held after having a bad fall and suffering from a back injury that lasted for a year.

"I am now fitter than I think I have ever been, so if I can do it so can everybody. My final crowning glory is 12 weeks ago I gave up smoking."

Big hearted slimmer Leanne Rogers of Ipswich has successfully completed her challenge to loose weight and raise money for children.

Her work colleagues and friends supported here in this venture helping her to raise approx £350 for the NSPCC.

This is very significant to Leanne due to the fact that she works within Social Services.

Of her weight loss she says: "I feel great now and I am fitting into clothes which look fab. I still have a long way to go until I reach my target but I know my acheivement so far is something to be proud of."

Leanne has asked us to pass on her thanks to everyone for their support and sponsorship. She attends the Slimming World class on a Thursday at 7pm, at Conservative Club, Clapgate Lane, Ipswich.

Last year Slimming World raised over £20,000 for the NSPCC and hope to top that this year.

For more information on the Slimathon and to pledge money to support Leanne please ring Liz on on 01473 728380.
