The Blues Band. If you sliced them open there would be more pedigree in them than a
container load of Pedigree Chum! Led by Paul Jones, too many credits to mention, and Dave Kelly, ex Howlin' Wolf etc, etc, this mature set of lads, Jones is 67, delighted an audience with their easy listening arrangements of Blues classics.

Master of ceremonies Jones led from the front belying his age as he strutted his stuff like a young master. Vocals, harmonica and Blues educationlist, he saw the night through like a professional should. No short change here. The same can be said about the rest of the band. Dave Kelly, king of the slide guitar and a blues voice to die for. Tom McGuinness showing that playing a guitar behind the head can still lead to the biggest cheer of the night. Gary Fletcher, ace bassist and composer of their “anthem” Green Stuff, and stand in drummer and son of Dave, Sam Kelly.

The audience, of a hugely wide age range, gave a standing ovation as the band left to continue on their 30th year of touring. Long may it continue.
