Strawberries are just one perishable item that stallholders have been left with on their hands
A spin-off of the cancellation of the second day of this year’s Suffolk Show has been the companies with surplus supplies perishable goods on their hands.

Stall holders stocked up for a busy second day at Suffolk’s biggest day out. Normally food stalls would get through hundreds of pints of milk, strawberries, cream, bread, rolls and other short shelf life products, catering for the thousands of visitors. With the show cancelled due to high winds earlier today, many stall holders have been left with the problem of what to do with the excess stock.

Local coffee producers Paddy and Scotts sent a message out via Twitter saying they had 400 pints of milk to give away to cafés or restaurants in the Ipswich area any business interested should contact them via Twitter @PaddyandScotts

The WI have a surplus of cakes and have set up a cake stall at 22 Orford St, Ipswich for the afternoon of Friday.

Strawberries destined to go to waste, if interested call Roger on 07880 868670.
