16-year-old Swims for Age UK Suffolk

James Honeywood from Capel St Mary, who attends the Colchester 6th Form, has taken up the challenge to do a sponsored one-mile swim on Saturday June 11th 2011 in the Alton Water British Gas Great East Swim.

James who is 16 years of age, is a neighbour of June Balaam (aged 72), one of Age UK Suffolk’s volunteer fundraisers, who he often helps with gardening and shopping. He wanted to help older people in the community and has chosen to support Age UK Suffolk.

James said “I wanted to do something challenging to help older people in Suffolk and decided to enter the Alton Water British Gas Great East Swim and am training hard for this event”.

Maggie James, Fundraising and Development Officer, Age UK Suffolk said “we are delighted that 16 year old James has chosen to raise funds for Age UK Suffolk and will be taking part in the sponsored swim. All money he raises in sponsorship will go towards the costs of providing services for older people in Suffolk.”.

If you would like to sponsor James Honeywood please contact Maggie James, Fundraising Officer on 01473 298688 or email maggie.james@ageuksuffolk.org.
