Fun Days at Transport Museum

Two exciting events are taking place at The Ipswich Transport Museum this June.

Family Fun Day, on Sunday 5th June, is a special day for families. Visitors to the Museum can enjoy free rides on vintage buses and fire engines belonging to the Museum, as well as being able to see the Museum’s amazing collection. Children can participate in special activities, including origami, colouring, designing, as well as hats to wear, all with a transport theme. The Ipswich Community Playbus “Maggie” will be there for children to have fun in and there will be two large model railways to enjoy. Don’t forget to look in on “Dennis” our playbus and take home one of Kenny the Conductor’s colouring sheets. The event runs from 11am until 4pm.

The second event, on Saturday 25th June, is the Ipswich Transport and Model Festival – where visitors get to see three great sites for the price of one ticket.  Visit the Transport Museum, Model Railway Club and Model Engineering Society and you can ride on a vintage bus, ride on large scale model steam trains, see amazing small scale model railways, buses, cars and planes – as well as the full size transport museum collection.  A half hourly free bus links the sites, and stops outside two quality model shops en route.  One adult ticket allows go-as-you-please entry to all sites and the free bus – and accompanied children are free. The event runs from 10am until 4pm.  Full details of both events are on the museum website.
