Ipswich: Guided walks for summer evenings

Ipswich Tourist Guides have introduced some evening walks as part of their season of guided walks.

On Wednesday 6th July, starting at 7pm, the walk, will be “Crime and Punishment” – with tales of colourful Ipswich characters who have fallen foul of the law over the centuries, including a Member of Parliament, a preacher, suffragettes, heretics and a suspected witch.

The walk will last approximately 90 minutes and the cost is just £3 per person. Meet outside the Ipswich Tourist Information Centre, St. Stephen’s Church, St Stephen’s Lane for a prompt 7pm start.

The guides offer evening walks which can be enjoyed by all, including those who have not been able to join in before because of work or other day time commitments. They are fun and informative and ideal for local people and visitors alike.

Further information, and a leaflet about the Guided Walks 2011 season, is available from the Tourist Information Centre, telephone 01473 258070 or email tourist@ipswich.gov.uk.
